This edition honours Bach’s educational intention by presenting his original notes in a simplified format, without changing a single pitch. Video demonstrations are provided for each line of music so you can hear and follow along at your own pace.

    • No key signature; five accidentals (F#, C#, B flat, E flat, and A flat) and a natural sign appear intermittently throughout

    • Octave hand span in both hands

    • Note values used: Eighth notes throughout, with one whole note chord at the end

    • Knowledge of note letter names and finger numbers required
