Canon in D tutorial series for beginners
You asked for it -- and here it is! 🎶 This is my beginner-friendly tutorial series for Canon in D, designed for absolute piano beginners. If you know your note names and finger numbers, you're ready to play -- no sheet music or theory knowledge needed! I'll guide you through everything step-by-step, right on the piano, so you can follow along easily.
In Part 1, we'll start with the core pattern of the song, which lays the foundation for the full piece. You'll be able to play along with me as we break it down together. As the series continues, we'll build on what you learn today, adding more notes and musical details to help you play Canon in D with confidence!
In Part 2, we're building on everything we learned in Part 1 by expanding our right hand pattern. Now we know the first four lines of the song!
In Part 3, we continue to expand our right hand pattern and add two more lines to our piece. We also discuss how you can tap into your creativity and start inventing your own playing patterns!
In Part 4, we show our left hand a little more love and add two new pattern options for our piece. We also discuss creative decision-making and things to consider when developing your own left hand patterns.
